New telephone number  -  ' 0844 477 2477

Seeing the Doctor  - The doctors will see you in surgery by appointment. Our receptionists will ask you a question to ensure the most appropriate clinician sees you.  Bookings are taken daily by telephone from 8.00am – 6.00pm or you can call in at your usual surgery to make an appointment. If you would like to book a routine appointment in advance then please advise the receptionist.

Urgent cases will always be seen on the same day.  If you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible, we can then offer the appointment to another patient.

Home visits  - If you are too ill to get to the surgery, please telephone before 11am, Monday – Friday, with full details of the problem so that we can judge the urgency of your call. The Practice covers a large rural area and therefore home visits require a lot of travelling time. Please come to the surgery if at all possible. If you are not sure whether you need a home visit, please telephone and ask for advice.

Telephone Advice  - If you require telephone advice, please telephone the surgery before 11am, Monday – Friday, the receptionist will take details of your request. The Doctor will return your call after morning surgery. We can call patients on mobile phones but prefer to use a landline. Please note that for reasons of confidentiality, we are unable to leave messages on answering machines.

Repeat Prescriptions  - To request a repeat prescription, please return your computer print – out and indicate which medications you would like repeating by ticking the items you require. You may also telephone between 10.00am and 6.00pm Monday – Friday for your repeat medication.

Please allow 48hrs before collecting repeat prescriptions. At certain intervals, you may be asked to make an appointment to see the Doctor before your next repeat. This is to review the progress of your medical condition and treatment.

The practice records all telephone calls. These recordings are strictly confidential.

General Practitioner Training Scheme  -The practice participates in the early training of medical students and in the advanced training of qualified doctors who wish to specialise in general practice. The receptionist will inform you on the occasions when a surgery is being jointly run (either by GP + GP registrar or GP + medical student(s)), or when a surgery is being video-recorded for training purposes. RECORDINGS WILL NOT BE UNDERTAKEN WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE PATIENT. No physical examinations are recorded and the camera will be switched off immediately on request. The practice would like to thank all those patients who help us with the continuing education of future GPs.
